Geting a photo with Guillem post gig. It weird when he got his phone out to get a pic with us as he reckons we are the best band in the world right now!
Our Guillem having a ball dancing to us. HIs tweets whilst we where playing are fantastic, we love you Guillem!
Wow! That is a very suitable start for what happened over in the Garden of Ireland. If you missed what we bounced over there for basically we and the fine fellas from The Anfield Wrap were going over to do a one off show, podcast, auction and gig at The Royal Hotel in Bray, just outside of Dublin. Along with the TAW lads Guillem Balague (Sky Sports Spanish guru, LFC insider and all round beautiful man) and Tony Evans (sports editor of The Times and top scouser) had also flown over to be part of the show.
Myself, Lee and Timo flew over early with Nicko and Dom driving over via the ferry. We got there about 1pm and met Ian and Ste (in Maccies, they recognised us without us telling them what we look like, not because we are famous but because they said we looked dead scouse) and they took us for a few drinks before we went to the hotel. After a few little drinkie poos we got the train to Bray and checked in The Royal. It was quite surreal as we hadn’t heard fuck all off Nick and Dom and I was munching some KFC pop corn chicken and just got cruised by Nick and Dom snarling at me.
Now we aren’t very rock and roll in a classic sense but fair enough we got bladdered on the Friday night. Again quite mad scenes as 20 scouse fellas and Guillem went on the mission down Bray waterfront for booze. The Irish people might I add at this point are second to none. They are class in every single way, we love them. We had a scream in the bars, talking shite with locals and having a buzz.
On Saturday we had to play footy with some local lads who had sorted out a match for us. Normally we’d be fucking gagging to smash a sphere round some grass but after twatting sambuca and getting not much sleep it wasn’t so appealing. To be fair we got there and had a laugh. Good job the Irish lads weren’t too serious as they would have fucking smashed us about 80-3 and if it wasn’t for the John “The Machine’ Gibbons we would have been beaten by a far greater score line than 6-3. The Irish lads who set it up are great boys, couldn’t have had a nicer day with good lads if we tried. Great hosts who enjoyed a good laugh.
Got back the hotel, had naughty little steam room, sauna, jacuzzi session, a boss scran with the lads and our manager Dave Pich (5 out of 6 lads getting steak, typical Shady got some wild pork belly). When the show actually started it was madness in the best possible way. 600 mad for LFC Irish mad men all drinking and having a fucking buzz courtesy of The Anfield Wrap lads giving them a fucking boss show, Tony Evo and Guillem did their bits, HJC auction raised 4 and half grand and then we went on. It was madness, from the start to finish truly excellent, everyone dancing their socks off, Guillem Balague raving his suited shoes off, I swerved playing for a bit to have a dance with the crowd, just a very decent time.
All in all Ireland we love you, Bray we love you, TAW we love you and to all the Irish out there who support us, WE LOVE YOU x
